The Abrahamic Movement Somaliland Marks an Important Milestone with the Official Registration of Its Berbera Branch
A Certificate of Registration from the Berbera District Local Government gives AMSL its first formal legal foothold in Somaliland — and sets the stage for national NGO status with the Ministry of National Planning and Development.
The Abrahamic Movement Somaliland (AMSL) is pleased to announce the successful official registration of its Berbera Branch with the Berbera District Local Government. The branch has formally received its Certificate of Registration, marking an important milestone in the organization’s commitment to lawful operations, institutional development, and community service across Somaliland.
This achievement reflects AMSL’s dedication to establishing a transparent, accountable, and professionally governed organization that contributes to peacebuilding, sustainable development, social cohesion, and constructive partnerships at the local, national, and international levels.
Building on this progress, The Abrahamic Movement Somaliland is now continuing the process of obtaining official registration as a local non-governmental organization (NGO) with the Somaliland Ministry of National Planning and Development (MoPND). Upon completion of this process, AMSL aims to operate in full compliance with Somaliland’s legal and regulatory framework governing civil society organizations.
A Locally Rooted Development Agenda
As a locally established organization, AMSL seeks to contribute to Somaliland’s national development priorities through programs that promote:
- ✦ Peacebuilding and social cohesion
- ✦ Interfaith and intercultural dialogue based on mutual respect
- ✦ Youth leadership and civic engagement
- ✦ Education and capacity development
- ✦ Women’s empowerment and community development
- ✦ Sustainable economic development and entrepreneurship
- ✦ Strategic partnerships with government institutions, civil society, development partners, and the private sector
The organization believes that sustainable development is strengthened through cooperation, inclusive dialogue, respect for human dignity, and partnerships that serve the common good.
