LAHORE: The Abrahamic Movement Pakistan has extended its heartfelt congratulations to Anila Ali on her appointment as President of The Abrahamic Movement USA, describing the development as an important milestone in strengthening international cooperation for interfaith harmony, religious freedom and peaceful coexistence.

In a joint congratulatory message, Kashif Mirza, CEO of Abrahamic Movement Pakistan, and Khurram Ali Raza, Chairman of Abrahamic Movement Pakistan, welcomed her appointment and expressed confidence in her ability to advance the movement’s mission of bringing Jewish, Muslim, Christian and other communities closer through dialogue, education and cultural engagement.

They said Anila Ali’s appointment reflects the growing importance of women’s leadership in international interfaith initiatives and provides an opportunity to strengthen connections between communities in Pakistan, the United States and other parts of the world.

Who Is Anila Ali?

Anila Ali is a prominent Pakistani-American advocate of religious freedom, women’s empowerment and interfaith engagement. She is the founder and President and CEO of the American Muslim and Multifaith Women’s Empowerment Council (AMMWEC), through which she has worked to promote religious understanding and defend the rights of vulnerable communities.

Her work in Pakistan has included initiatives supporting religious minorities, particularly Christians. Following the attacks in Jaranwala and Sargodha, she led a fact-finding delegation to highlight the persecution of Christians and advocate for minority rights.

In the United States, she has actively promoted Muslim-Jewish relations, condemned antisemitism and advocated for solidarity among Abrahamic faith communities. Her participation in interfaith delegations to Israel and the United Arab Emirates has also contributed to dialogue and people-to-people engagement.

The Abraham Accords and Beyond

The leadership of Abrahamic Movement Pakistan emphasized that the Abraham Accords offer an important platform for expanding cooperation beyond diplomatic relations and into education, culture, economic partnerships and grassroots engagement.

They noted that the Abrahamic Movement’s broader vision is to transform shared religious and historical heritage into practical initiatives that encourage mutual respect, reconciliation and peaceful coexistence.

Kashif Mirza and Khurram Ali Raza expressed their commitment to working with The Abrahamic Movement USA and other international partners to strengthen the movement’s presence and promote its objectives in Pakistan and beyond.

They also highlighted the importance of creating opportunities for young people, women, religious leaders and civil society representatives to participate in meaningful interfaith initiatives.
