Malaysia and Thailand reaffirm ASEAN ties at Lima courtesy call
Ambassador Ahmad Irham Ikmal Hisham hosts Thailand’s Ambassador-Designate to Peru, underscoring decades of friendship and a shared commitment to regional stability.
H.E. Ambassador Ahmad Irham Ikmal Hisham welcomed H.E. Ms. Ek-on Khunacharoen, Ambassador-Designate of the Kingdom of Thailand to the Republic of Peru, for a courtesy call at the Embassy of Malaysia in Lima, marking a fresh chapter in the two nations’ long-running diplomatic partnership.
The meeting provided a valuable opportunity to exchange views on bilateral and regional developments and to reaffirm the strong and longstanding ties between Malaysia and Thailand as fellow member states of the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN).
Both sides also discussed opportunities to further strengthen cooperation and diplomatic engagement, with a shared commitment to promoting friendship, mutual understanding, regional stability and prosperity between the two ASEAN neighbours.
The Embassy of Malaysia in Lima said it looks forward to continued engagement and close cooperation with the Embassy of Thailand and other diplomatic partners in Peru, as both missions build on the occasion to deepen coordination across the Southeast Asian diplomatic community in Lima.
