Abrahamic Movement UK Launches in London as a Moderate Alternative to Extremist Movements
Jewish, Iranian, Somaliland and Kurdish community leaders, joined by Arab supporters of the Abraham Accords, announce a new local alliance for Britain.
LONDON — The Abrahamic Movement UK is getting underway. At a meeting in London attended by local leaders from the Jewish, Iranian, Somaliland and Kurdish communities, and Arab supporters of the Abraham Accords, organisers announced what they describe as a new path: a local alternative in Britain to extremist movements.
The announcement was made by Tom Wegner on X. Wegner is Founder and CEO of The Abrahamic Movement, the global organisation behind the new British branch. He posts at @tomweg.
“Our communities in Britain are suffering a complete loss of their security in the shadow of violence from extremist movements.”Tom Wegner, Founder and CEO, The Abrahamic Movement
According to the statement, the concern reaches well beyond one community. “It is not only the Jewish community that fears the rise of extremism,” Wegner wrote: the Iranian opposition community, the Somaliland community, moderate Muslims, the Kurds and minorities such as the Druze and Alawites also suffer harassment and violence from incited extremists. “So do Christians.”

The founding of the Abrahamic Movement UK, Wegner said, “heralds a new dawn for the Abrahamic communities, a moderate alliance that will raise a new and unifying voice in Britain, an authentic voice from the Middle East that heralds Abrahamic peace and a shared vision in which there is room for everyone.”
Just as important, he added, it will create a community of communities, “which will no longer feel so alone in the face of violent and extremist forces.”
The movement’s new UK account on X describes its mission as “building bridges between Jewish, Muslim & Christian communities through dialogue, mutual understanding and cooperation.” It lists London as its location and points followers to abrahamic.org.
