Chok Sung, 57, was stabbed near West 84th Street; Moshe Grunhaus, 50, was stabbed as he walked home from synagogue services on West 86th Street, just steps from the building’s doors. According to the petition, the attacker was heard shouting “Allahu Akbar,” and neither victim was protected. The petition frames the incident not as a story about a single community, but as evidence of a broader pattern of governance it says has failed multiple groups of New Yorkers, including schoolchildren, children in city custody, and public-safety whistleblowers.

It cites Mamdani’s veto of Intro 175-B, school safety legislation that would have required police planning around obstruction and intimidation at schools, saying no alternative plan followed.
