New Jersey Governor Mikie Sherrill has extended a warm welcome to participants attending the National Coalition on Antisemitism and Hate Conference in Washington, D.C., hosted by the American Muslim & Multifaith Women’s Empowerment Council (AMMWEC). In an official message issued from the Office of the Governor, Sherrill praised the conference for bringing together leaders from diverse faiths, backgrounds, and professions to confront antisemitism, hatred, and extremism in all their forms.

A Call for Pluralism and Mutual Respect

The Governor highlighted the importance of fostering dialogue, understanding, and cooperation across religious and cultural communities, noting that such efforts strengthen the values of pluralism, mutual respect, and human dignity that are essential to both New Jersey and the United States as a whole.

Sherrill also acknowledged AMMWEC and its partners for promoting voices of reason, compassion, and unity at a time when division and intolerance continue to challenge communities across the country. Her remarks underscored the significance of convening such a broad coalition — spanning Muslim, Jewish, Christian, and multifaith leaders — at the National Press Club in Washington, D.C.

Strengthening Partnerships Against Hate

The Governor expressed hope that the conference would inspire meaningful discussions, strengthen partnerships, and encourage continued action toward greater understanding and respect among people of different backgrounds. Her message reflected a bipartisan recognition that combating antisemitism and all forms of hate requires sustained, collective effort — not only at the federal level but in statehouses, communities, and houses of worship across America.

The AMMWEC National Coalition Conference, held July 13 at the National Press Club in Washington, D.C., brings together more than 50 coalition members — including national partners Hadassah and the ADL — alongside faith leaders, elected officials, and human rights advocates from across the United States and beyond.
