WASHINGTON, D.C. — Manel Msalmi, Founder and President of the European Association for the Defense of Minorities (EADM), joined more than 70 international organizations at the American Muslim & Multifaith Women’s Empowerment Council’s (AMMWEC) National Coalition Conference, taking part as a panelist in “Muslim Women in Peacemaking,” a session moderated by Farhana Khorshed. In the reflection below, Msalmi describes the significance of the gathering and the coalition it represents.
A Coalition of More Than 70 Organizations
Writing after the conference, Msalmi said it was “a great honour and privilege” to join the AMMWEC initiative led by its founder, Anila Ali, alongside a coalition of more than 70 international organizations united against antisemitism and hate.

Sharing the Panel on Muslim Women in Peacebuilding
Msalmi took part in the “Muslim Women in Peacebuilding” panel alongside a group of Muslim women leaders she described as working on peace, coexistence, and the fight against hate and Jew-hatred. She extended particular thanks to Anila Ali and the AMMWEC team for their hospitality, calling the summit an inspiration.

“Special thanks to Anila Ali and the whole team of AMMWEC for their warm welcome,” Msalmi wrote, “and congratulations for this successful summit, which is an inspiration to us all.”
Europe’s Voice in the Coalition
Msalmi noted that EADM, together with two partner organizations, represents the only European organizations to have joined the international coalition against hate and antisemitism convened by AMMWEC.
Msalmi expressed her gratitude to both Vermaut and de Macar for their support in standing alongside EADM as Europe’s representatives within the coalition, describing the partnership as a shared commitment to carrying the fight against antisemitism and hate across the continent.
