AMMWEC to Host National Coalition Against Antisemitism & Hate Conference in Washington, D.C. Tomorrow
More than 50 organisations have united ahead of the July 13 gathering at the National Press Club, bringing together Muslim, Jewish, Christian, interfaith, civic, and policy leaders against rising hate and extremism — with European voices joining from across the Atlantic.
On the eve of a landmark gathering at the National Press Club in Washington, D.C., the American Muslim and Multifaith Women’s Empowerment Council (AMMWEC) has confirmed that more than 50 organisations have joined its National Coalition Against Antisemitism and Hate ahead of the July 13 conference. The coalition brings together Muslim, Jewish, Christian, interfaith, civic, and policy leaders in a unified front against rising hatred and extremism in the United States and beyond.
Among those travelling to Washington from Europe is Manel Msalmi, FFN Chief Executive and Founder & President of the European Association for the Defense of Minorities — whose organisation, ETHAN (Engagement to Halt Antisemitism and Negationism), has been spotlighted by AMMWEC as a valued coalition partner in the shared mission to uphold human dignity and protect vulnerable communities.
A Historic Moment — Msalmi’s Message
Speaking ahead of the conference, Manel Msalmi described the gathering as unprecedented in its scope and symbolism.
It is the first global coalition against antisemitism and hate and it is a historic moment in which Muslims, Christians, Jews and all faiths come together to fight against extremism and violence. AMMWEC showed the world that interfaith dialogue can build bridges between people in the US and beyond — and that hate has no place in America.
Manel Msalmi · FFN Chief Executive & Co-Chair, ETHANMsalmi also underscored the transatlantic significance of the conference for her own work in Europe, noting that the growing wave of antisemitic incidents in Belgium and France made the American model of coalition-building urgently relevant.
ETHAN is a European and international organization which aims at bridging the gap between Muslims, Jews, and Christians in Europe and beyond — fighting against antisemitism, racism, negationism, and hate through education and raising awareness.
Manel Msalmi · FFN Chief Executive & Co-Chair, ETHANShe added that following the antisemitic incidents in Belgium and France, there is a clear need to follow the initiative of American and international organisations to establish dialogue and educate young people about the Holocaust and negationism — particularly given what she described as a partial failure of educational systems to adequately address these issues.
The Duty of Remembrance — De Macar
ETHAN Co-Chair Raphael de Macar echoed the urgency, framing the conference as a timely response to the dual threat of far-left and far-right extremism in Europe and beyond.
There is an urgent need to have such a civil society initiative to ensure the duty of remembrance and make sure future generations remember the Holocaust and all forms of genocide — mainly in these risky times with the rise of far left and far right, as well as extremism, antisemitism, and hate in Europe and beyond.
Raphael de Macar · Co-Chair, ETHAN
AMMWEC is honored to welcome His Beatitude Archbishop Melchizedek, North America Metropolitan of the Greek Palestinian Orthodox Church, to the National Coalition Conference on Antisemitism & Hate at the National Press Club, Washington, D.C.
His presence reflects a shared commitment to promoting unity and mutual respect, and to standing together against antisemitism and all forms of hate — across faiths, cultures, and communities.
