Lawmakers From 12+ Latin American Countries Back Isaac Accords and Jerusalem Embassy Moves in Landmark Buenos Aires Conference
A three-day chairmen’s conference organized by the Israel Allies Foundation and the American Friends of Isaac Accords concluded with more than 20 lawmakers, ambassadors, and religious leaders signing a resolution to deepen Israel-Latin America ties and press for further embassy relocations to Jerusalem.
In a significant boost to Israel-Latin America relations, legislators from more than a dozen countries across the region concluded a three-day conference in Buenos Aires by signing a resolution endorsing the expansion of the Isaac Accords. The framework, modeled after the Abraham Accords, aims to deepen economic, technological, diplomatic, and security ties with Israel while encouraging more nations to recognize Jerusalem as Israel’s undivided capital by relocating their embassies there.
The Latin America Chairmen’s Conference, held from June 28-30, 2026, was organized by the Israel Allies Foundation (IAF) in cooperation with the American Friends of Isaac Accords (AFOIA) of the Genesis Prize Foundation. It gathered more than 20 lawmakers, ambassadors, religious leaders, and political figures to advance pro-Israel parliamentary cooperation.
A Broad Regional Coalition
According to organizers, participating countries included Brazil, Argentina, Venezuela, Ecuador, Colombia, Honduras, Chile, Costa Rica, Guatemala, Paraguay, Uruguay, Bolivia, and Panama, reflecting broad regional representation across the hemisphere.
Key Outcomes and Statements
The resolution calls for greater regional cooperation with Israel and renews efforts to move embassies to Jerusalem. It also promotes wider adoption of the International Holocaust Remembrance Alliance (IHRA) working definition of antisemitism and stronger legislative action against terrorism and extremism.
Argentine President Javier Milei, the driving force behind the Isaac Accords, delivered a keynote address emphasizing moral clarity.
From day one as president, I made the firm determination to place Argentina on the right side of history. Disorganized evil can only be defeated by organized good. There is no room for neutrality. Javier Milei · President of Argentina
Argentina’s Ambassador to Israel, Shimon Axel Wahnish, highlighted Milei’s view of Israel as a strategic friend and ally, calling for unity across Latin America to accelerate the Accords and improve daily life for citizens through practical cooperation.
Brazilian presidential candidate Flavio Bolsonaro praised the Israel Allies Foundation’s president, Josh Reinstein, for his long-standing work in faith-based diplomacy, which has helped nations move embassies to Jerusalem and combat antisemitism.
Reinstein described the event as “a defining moment,” urging parliamentarians to embrace the Isaac Accords and take the historic step of relocating embassies. S. Fitzgerald Haney, AFOIA’s managing director for Latin America, noted that the gathering was more than a conference — it was a strong statement of commitment. Leopoldo Martínez, IAF’s Latin America director, highlighted the “extraordinary parliamentary support for Israel” and shared Judeo-Christian values, democracy, freedom, and peace.
Background on the Isaac Accords
- Conceived by President Milei, 2025 Genesis Prize Laureate, building on the spirit of the Abraham Accords.
- Guatemala, Honduras, and Paraguay already maintain embassies in Jerusalem.
- Ecuador and Costa Rica have opened, or plan to open, Innovation Offices in Jerusalem with diplomatic status.
- Ecuador, Costa Rica, and Paraguay have designated Hamas, Hezbollah, and Iran’s IRGC as terrorist organizations.
- Brazil has seen strong parliamentary engagement through its Israel caucus.
Regional and Global Significance
This development comes amid shifting dynamics in Latin America, where several leaders are prioritizing stronger Western alliances, economic pragmatism, and shared security concerns. Supporters view the Isaac Accords as a pathway to prosperity, countering extremism, and reinforcing democratic values in the hemisphere.
The United States has expressed support, seeing the initiative as complementary to its own interests in regional stability, trade, and alliances. Organizers and participants expressed optimism that the Buenos Aires declaration will inspire more legislative action and governmental commitments across the region in the coming months.
This conference marks another milestone in the growing friendship between Israel and Latin America, grounded in shared values and mutual benefits. As one organizer put it, it is about building an “unbreakable alliance” through faith-based and parliamentary diplomacy.
