TORONTO, CANADA — Voice of the Martyrs Canada (VOMC), a leading Christian ministry dedicated to serving the persecuted church worldwide, has formally unveiled its foundational core values under a powerful new framework titled V.O.I.C.E.. The initiative, designed to shape both the internal culture and external mission of the organization, was shared by CEO Floyd A. Brobbel in a recent newsletter, expressing a deep commitment to spiritual health, servant leadership, and gospel-centered living.
“Core values represent the fundamental essence of VOMC and serve as a guiding framework for our behaviour and actions,” Brobbel affirmed.
The V.O.I.C.E. acronym reflects five interconnected values that inspire both the VOMC team and its wider community of supporters:
- Vitality in Prayer
- Owning God’s Mission
- Importance of Discipleship
- Committed to Fellowship
- Ethical Stewardship
These values are not just internal guidelines, but are deeply tied to the ministry’s mission to “actively remember and serve the persecuted church.” As Brobbel noted, the values act as both organizational tools and missional principles — influencing everything from workplace dynamics to global outreach strategies.
The framework finds its spiritual foundation in Proverbs 4:20–23 (ESV), which encourages believers to guard their hearts as the source of life itself:
“Keep your heart with all vigilance, for from it flow the springs of life.”
(Proverbs 4:23)
The newsletter also cites the ESV Global Study Bible, which explains that “the heart” in Scripture refers to the center of a person’s inner life — where decisions, emotions, and convictions are formed. VOMC’s core values aim to protect this vital spiritual center, ensuring that every team member is nurtured in faith and equipped to live out their calling both within and beyond the organization.
Cultivating Spiritual Flourishment
According to Brobbel, this values-based approach is rooted in a vision of “an energetic, inspiring workplace” where spiritual growth is prioritized and discipleship is not optional. Yet, VOMC remains firmly committed to the broader body of Christ:
“VOMC does not replace the authority of the local church in the lives of its staff members,” the CEO clarified. “Every Christian should be committed to a local church community where they are spiritually nourished and encouraged to actively serve.”
The ministry’s trans-denominational reach is further emphasized, as VOMC brings together Christ-followers from diverse traditions to glorify God through His persecuted church. It is within this shared cause that the V.O.I.C.E. values come alive, fostering unity, integrity, and Kingdom impact.
What’s Next?
In a concluding note, Brobbel announced the launch of a blog series that will explore each core value in greater depth. The series will aim to illustrate why these values are not only essential to the identity of VOMC, but also critical to how the ministry functions and serves globally.
