WASHINGTON, D.C. – U.S. Ambassador to Israel, Mike Huckabee, praised the “unflappable” leadership of Donald Trump, President of the United States, and Benjamin Netanyahu, Prime Minister of Israel, saying their decisive and coordinated actions produced immediate peace in Israel and “humbled Iran” on the world stage. Huckabee made the comments in an opinion piece appearing in The Jerusalem Post on June 26, 2025, in which he praised the two leaders for their “bold leadership in action,” and “unyielding commitment” to fulfilling important geopolitical pledges.
Ambassador Huckabee’s observations highlight President Trump’s record of “promise made, promise kept” approach to governance with reference to his historic move, in December 2017, to move the U.S. Embassy to Jerusalem. Ambassador Huckabee recalls his personal encounter with President Trump as the President affirmed his intent to move the Embassy notwithstanding international and domestic pressures, he said “I’ll make the announcement because I said I would, and it’s the right thing to do!” Huckabee asserted that direct and profound remark is an illustration of true, committed leadership.
These latest developments, with a rapid ceasefire between Israel and Iran, emphasize this incivisive leadership. The Israelis were faced with a critical decision, when they began their first major effort to stop Iran’s nuclear plans from June 13 onwards. They saw an immediate danger not only to themselves, but also to the entire free world. They acted with courage and precision. But as Ambassador Huckabee mentioned, there was a very tangible strategic gap – “bunker-buster bombs” that can destroy nuclear facilities, that have been buried deep in the earth.
At this point, we saw American assets suspended in air.
The signalling from the former President stand out, as they delivered the US B-2 bombers, and prepared to drop 30,000-pound MOP (Massive Ordnance Penetrator) “bunker buster.” The former President said he was to get rid of them with “obliteration”. This allows the Israelis to go forward and allowed them to unify what it took to end this very quickly and bring a ceasefire.
Ambassador Huckabee emphasized the profound bond between Prime Minister Netanyahu and President Trump, built on a shared understanding that “a nuclear weapon in the hands of the radical government of Iran is as reckless as a bottle of whiskey and the keys to a Porsche are in the hands of a 16-year-old boy!” Their joint determination, particularly President Trump’s unflinching commitment that “Iran will never have a nuclear weapon,” was resolutely delivered upon through this coordinated action.
The immediate impact was profoundly felt in Israel, where citizens, including a significant American expatriate community, experienced their first night of uninterrupted sleep in almost two weeks, free from the piercing sounds of sirens and the threat of Iranian ballistic missiles. Iran’s previous audacious threats to “wipe Israel off the face of the earth” were met with decisive failure, while the steadfast promise of Israel and America to prevent a nuclear Iran was powerfully fulfilled.
According to Ambassador Huckabee, the outcome is clear: Israel and America, guided by their “two unflappable leaders,” have not only provided immediate security but have delivered “the gift of a humbled Iran to the world.” This bold action is hailed as the launch of something far grander than destructive bombs—a significant realignment of the Middle East, fostering hope for greater stability and peace in a region long plagued by animosity. The message, as Ambassador Huckabee keenly observes, is a resounding “Promise Made. Promise Kept.”
