U.S. President Donald Trump announced late Monday that Israel and Iran have agreed to a complete and total ceasefire, effectively bringing what he termed “The 12-Day War” to an end. This announcement follows days of intense conflict characterized by Israeli airstrikes on Iran’s nuclear facilities, Iranian missile attacks on Israeli cities, and U.S. military intervention.
In a series of posts on his Truth Social platform, Trump stated that the ceasefire would take effect in approximately six hours, allowing both nations to complete ongoing military operations. Iran is set to initiate the ceasefire first, followed by Israel 12 hours later. Trump indicated that an “Official END” to the conflict would be marked 24 hours after the initial halt in hostilities.

“CONGRATULATIONS TO EVERYONE! It has been fully agreed by and between Israel and Iran that there will be a Complete and Total CEASEFIRE (in approximately 6 hours from now, when Israel and Iran have wound down and completed their in-progress, final missions!), for 12 hours, at which point the War will be considered, ENDED!” Trump wrote. “This is a war that could have gone on for years and destroyed the entire Middle East, but it didn’t, and never will! God bless Israel, God bless Iran, God bless the Middle East, God bless the United States of America, and GOD BLESS THE WORLD!”
The President praised both nations for their “stamina, courage, and intelligence,” framing the agreement as a significant diplomatic achievement. He credited Qatar for brokering the deal, noting that the Qatari emir personally engaged with Iranian and U.S. leadership. A senior Iranian official confirmed to Reuters that Tehran had accepted the Qatari-mediated proposal.
In another post, Trump expressed gratitude to the Emir of Qatar, stating, “I’d like to thank the Highly Respected Emir of Qatar for all that he has done in seeking Peace for the Region.” He also addressed the recent missile attack on the U.S. Al Udeid Air Base in Qatar, reporting, “I am pleased to report that, in addition to no Americans being killed or wounded, very importantly, there have also been no Qataris killed or wounded. Thank you for your attention to this matter!”
Vice President JD Vance echoed Trump’s optimism in a Fox News interview, calling the ceasefire “a new dawn of peace and prosperity” for the region. Vance asserted that U.S. strikes had severely crippled Iran’s nuclear infrastructure, rendering it incapable of producing a nuclear weapon. “We destroyed their capability, and now we have an opportunity to restart a real peace process,” he added.
The ceasefire deal followed a symbolic missile strike by Iran on the U.S. Al Udeid Air Base in Qatar, which was a response to U.S. attacks on its nuclear sites. Most of the missiles were intercepted, and no injuries were reported. Trump downplayed the attack, thanking Iran for the warning and interpreting it as a sign of de-escalation. “Iran has officially responded to our Obliteration of their Nuclear Facilities with a very weak response, which we expected, and have very effectively countered,” he stated. “There have been 14 missiles fired — 13 were knocked down, and 1 was ‘set free,’ because it was headed in a nonthreatening direction. I am pleased to report that NO Americans were harmed, and hardly any damage was done.”
Israeli officials, while not immediately confirming the ceasefire, described the military campaign as a clear victory that significantly degraded Iran’s capabilities. According to Israeli assessments, Iran sought an immediate ceasefire while Israel initially preferred to extend operations to achieve strategic goals. Ultimately, both sides agreed to end hostilities within days.
The conflict began on June 13 with Israel’s Operation Rising Lion, targeting Iran’s nuclear facilities and key military leaders. Iran responded with massive missile and drone barrages, resulting in the deaths of at least nine Israelis and injuries to dozens more. Israel retaliated with repeated airstrikes, including an unprecedented attack on Tehran’s Evin prison. The U.S. entered the conflict on June 21, launching Operation Midnight Hammer, which involved B-2 bombers and cruise missiles targeting Iran’s nuclear infrastructure.
Reactions to the fighting were mixed, with Gulf states urging diplomacy to avoid regional destabilization, while Russia and China condemned U.S. and Israeli actions. Oil prices fluctuated amid fears of disruption in the Strait of Hormuz, although the vital shipping lane remained open.
Estimates suggest at least 25 Israelis and between 639 and 900 Iranians were killed during the fighting, with thousands more injured. No American casualties were reported.
In a separate development, Trump issued a warning on Truth Social after former Russian President Dmitry Medvedev appeared to threaten that other nations could arm Iran with nuclear warheads in response to U.S. airstrikes. “Did I hear Former President Medvedev, from Russia, casually throwing around the ‘N word’ (Nuclear!), and saying that he and other Countries would supply Nuclear Warheads to Iran?” Trump wrote. “If he did say that, and, if confirmed, please let me know, IMMEDIATELY.”
Medvedev, now deputy chairman of Russia’s Security Council, had posted on X (formerly Twitter) that the strikes would not halt Iran’s nuclear ambitions. “A number of countries are ready to directly supply Iran with their own nuclear warheads,” he declared.
Russia’s Foreign Ministry condemned the U.S. strikes as a “gross violation of international law” that dangerously escalates tensions in the Middle East. Moscow warned that the attacks could prompt other nations to arm Tehran, although Medvedev did not specify which nations might do so.
Meanwhile, Iran’s Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi accused Washington of undermining diplomacy. “Last week, we were in negotiations with the U.S. when Israel decided to blow up that diplomacy,” Araghchi tweeted.
Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth stated that U.S. forces are working with regional partners to safeguard American personnel following the strikes.
Prophecy scholars are closely monitoring these developments, seeing in the growing Russia-Iran alliance echoes of the Gog-Magog coalition described in Ezekiel 38-39, a force foretold to rise against Israel in the end times.
The White House has yet to respond officially to Medvedev’s comments, but Trump’s post underscores the gravity of the escalating nuclear rhetoric. “Victory is ours,” Trump concluded, “but we must remain vigilant.”
In a powerful message to Iran’s leadership, Israel announced Monday that it had successfully destroyed the so-called “Israel doomsday clock” during a wave of precision strikes deep inside Tehran. The clock, a provocative symbol of Iran’s long-standing calls for Israel’s destruction, was targeted alongside key regime and security sites as part of Israel’s intensifying military campaign.
Defense Minister Israel Katz made clear that the operation was a direct response to recent attacks on Israel. “For every attack on Israel’s home front, Iran’s dictator will face punishment, and the strikes will continue with full intensity,” Katz vowed.
The infamous digital countdown clock was first unveiled in 2017 during a massive rally in Tehran marking Quds Day (Jerusalem Day), an annual event initiated by Ayatollah Ruhollah Khomeini, the founder of Iran’s Islamic regime. The clock was installed in Palestine Square, a prominent location in Tehran, and featured a digital display showing the days, hours, and seconds “left before the destruction of Israel.”
Katz confirmed that the strikes on Monday, launched under the directive of Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, targeted regime power centers, including the headquarters of the Basij internal security force, known for its violent crackdowns on Iranian citizens; the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps’ internal security and ideology offices; and the notorious Evin Prison, where thousands of political prisoners and dissidents have been detained.
“Following the directive of Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and Minister of Defense Israel Katz, the IDF is currently striking regime targets and oppressive governmental institutions in the heart of Tehran with unprecedented force,” Katz stated.
The destruction of the doomsday clock, long viewed as a symbol of Tehran’s genocidal ambitions against the Jewish state, marked a significant psychological blow to the Iranian regime amid rising regional tensions.
