Brussels, March 19, 2025 – In a spirited message today, Tristan Azbej, State Secretary for the Aid of Persecuted Christians and the Hungary Helps Program, declared, “The smoke has cleared, Tuesday’s session moved to Wednesday.” Speaking after a busy night at Parliament, where he represented the proprietor in a debate on foreign laws, Azbej expressed honor in participating in the session and confirmed his commitment to both Christian solidarity and Hungarian interests.
After a brief pause for rest, the State Secretary is set to join an international meeting of the OECD on development support issues tomorrow morning, underscoring Hungary’s proactive role in international development and humanitarian efforts.

He further emphasized that Hungary expects all Syrian and international actors to do everything possible to secure the protection of religious minority communities – including persecuted Christians – and to hold Syrian leaders accountable for guaranteeing their human rights and physical safety.
