Thailand Hosts 2025 AIBD General Conference in Phuket Under Theme “Media for People, Peace, and Prosperity”
Bangkok, August 17, 2025 – Thailand’s Government Public Relations Department (PRD) is set to host the 2025 Asia-Pacific Institute for Broadcasting Development (AIBD) General Conference, taking place from 19–21 August in Phuket Province. The event brings together media leaders, policymakers, and experts from across the region under the theme: “Media for People, Peace, and Prosperity.”
The PRD emphasized that the conference aims to showcase how media, in the digital era, can serve as a powerful force in shaping society, promoting understanding, and driving development.
Media for People
The PRD underscored its role as a government media outlet that is accessible, trustworthy, and modern. It pledged to provide accurate, comprehensive information while actively combating misinformation, ensuring the public remains informed and resilient amid global challenges. Delegates will discuss how effective communication can strengthen social foundations and build “social immunity” for citizens in all dimensions.
Media for Peace
Highlighting the role of media in conflict resolution, the PRD reaffirmed its commitment to being a neutral and balanced platform that fosters dialogue and mutual understanding. By promoting creative and responsible communication, the media can encourage peaceful coexistence at both national and international levels.
Media for Prosperity
The conference will also explore how media can act as a catalyst for economic growth, from highlighting Thai entrepreneurial success stories to showcasing global innovations. The PRD noted that the media sector can play a central role in creating opportunities, improving quality of life, and driving inclusive prosperity for all.
Officials said the 2025 AIBD General Conference will not only provide a platform for regional cooperation but also reaffirm Thailand’s commitment to using media as a driver of people-centered development, peace-building, and shared prosperity.
