Ubon Ratchathani — The Thai government has delivered emergency housing assistance to families affected by recent Thai-Cambodian border clashes, in line with Acting Prime Minister Phumtham Wechayachai’s directive to fast-track relief efforts.
On August 12, 2025, Police Colonel Tawee Sodsong, Minister of Justice, and Theerarat Samrejvanich, Deputy Minister of Interior, visited Nam Yuen District to hand over 11 prefabricated houses to four families whose homes were damaged or destroyed in the incidents. Damage assessments indicate that 82 houses in the district sustained varying levels of harm, from minor damage to total destruction.

The Ministry of Interior and the Ministry of Justice are jointly leading a broader recovery program aimed at repairing damaged homes or providing new prefabricated houses to those who lost their properties entirely. The initiative seeks to help residents return to normal life as swiftly as possible.
During the visit, the ministers engaged directly with local residents, listening to their concerns and suggestions for the recovery process. They also extended support and encouragement to officials and aid workers operating on the ground to ease the hardship faced by the community.
