WASHINGTON, D.C. – President Donald Trump has been formally nominated for the prestigious Nobel Peace Prize, a recognition that shines a spotlight on his administration’s significant efforts in de-escalating conflicts and forging diplomatic breakthroughs across the globe. The nomination, submitted by Representative Buddy Carter (R-Ga.) to the Norwegian Nobel Committee, specifically cites President Trump’s “extraordinary and historic role in brokering an end to the armed conflict between Israel and Iran and preventing the world’s largest state sponsor of terrorism from obtaining the most lethal weapon on the planet.”
In his nomination letter, Representative Carter lauded President Trump’s decisive leadership, stating, “President Trump’s influence was instrumental in forging a swift agreement that many believed to be impossible.” He further emphasized that Trump’s leadership in this critical moment “exemplifies the very ideals that the Nobel Peace Prize seeks to recognize: the pursuit of peace, the prevention of war, and the advancement of international harmony.” Carter concluded by noting that such a breakthrough in a historically volatile region “demands both courage and clarity,” qualities he affirmed President Trump demonstrated, offering “the world a rare glimpse of hope.”

This nomination comes swiftly after President Trump’s announcement on Monday evening of a cease-fire between Iran and Israel, a remarkable development following an unprecedented U.S. strike on Iranian nuclear sites in support of Israeli actions. The rapid de-escalation of what he playfully suggested could be called the “12 Day War” has been met with relief by many, including figures like Steve Witkoff, who declared the conflict “over” with “no one shooting at each other.”
Beyond this latest achievement, President Trump’s peace-making credentials have been widely noted, particularly concerning the landmark Abraham Accords of 2020. This monumental initiative, spearheaded by his administration, successfully brokered diplomatic relations and normalized ties between Israel and four Arab nations – the United Arab Emirates, Bahrain, Sudan, and Morocco – fundamentally reshaping the geopolitical landscape of the Middle East and fostering unprecedented regional cooperation.

President Trump has consistently highlighted his administration’s commitment to global peace, often pointing to other significant, yet less publicly recognized, diplomatic successes. On his Truth Social platform, he recently underscored efforts such as stopping the war between Rwanda and the Democratic Republic of Congo, preventing further conflict between India and Pakistan, and brokering peace between Serbia and Kosovo. Despite these extensive endeavors, President Trump has voiced his personal skepticism about receiving the award, quipping, “I won’t get a Nobel Peace Prize no matter what I do…They won’t give me a Nobel Peace Prize because they only give it to liberals.”
Nonetheless, his contributions have garnered strong support from various quarters. Faith & Freedom News FFN has notably advocated for President Trump’s Nobel recognition, as detailed in Junaid Qaiser’s insightful book, “Trump’s Historic Peace Deal: Abraham Accords and the Road to Nobel Recognition.”
The formal nomination by a member of a national parliament, a legitimate pathway for Nobel Peace Prize consideration, brings renewed attention to President Trump’s unique approach to international diplomacy and his tangible contributions to global peace and stability. His supporters believe these efforts truly embody the spirit of the Nobel Peace Prize, seeking to prevent war and advance international harmony through courageous and clear leadership.
