KARACHI — The International Religious Freedom (IRF) Roundtable Pakistan convened its fourth in-person meeting at the Avari Hotel, Karachi, bringing together a broad spectrum of voices to advance dialogue and cooperation among communities.

The session was led by Anila Ali, Co-Chair of the IRF Roundtable Pakistan, and convened by Kashif Mirza, IRF Pakistan Coordinator. The gathering included representatives from all major faith traditions, civil society leaders, and members of the media.

Participants emphasized the pivotal role of interfaith dialogue, media engagement, and cultural exchange in building trust and understanding across Pakistan’s diverse communities. Discussions particularly highlighted the responsibility of media in countering divisive narratives and amplifying stories of unity and cooperation.

“The media has the power to either deepen divides or strengthen bonds,” noted one participant, stressing that accurate and balanced reporting can foster coexistence and reduce polarization.

The IRF Roundtable Pakistan has emerged as a vital platform for stakeholders to collaborate on safeguarding religious freedom and promoting social cohesion. By engaging faith leaders, journalists, and community representatives, the initiative continues to build bridges in one of the world’s most religiously diverse regions.
