Caleb Wehrli, Founder, Director, and CEO of Inspire International and Pastor of House of Faith in Bixby, Oklahoma, has announced another significant breakthrough in the organization’s ongoing Freedom Project in Pakistan.
Breaking Chains of Modern Slavery
In a moving social media update, Wehrli shared the news that six additional families have been freed from debt bondage in Pakistan’s notorious brick factories—an industry often criticized for exploitative labor practices that trap generations in cycles of poverty and servitude.
“FREEDOM IN PAKISTAN: We are celebrating with 6 more families that we were able to get free from a life of servitude in the brick factories in Pakistan and step into a new future filled with hope, dignity, and opportunity,” Wehrli wrote.
The Freedom Project, a cornerstone initiative of Inspire International, focuses on identifying and liberating families trapped in debt bondage situations, particularly in Pakistan‘s brick-making industry. These operations often function as modern slavery systems, where families work for years or even generations to pay off small initial loans that grow insurmountable due to predatory interest rates.
“Through these Freedom Project initiatives, entire families are experiencing the love of God in a tangible way as they are set free and empowered with a new way of life,” Wehrli explained. This holistic approach doesn’t merely remove families from exploitation but provides sustainable pathways toward economic independence through vocational training, education, and community support.

Evangelistic Outreach in Remote Regions
In addition to the freedom initiatives, Wehrli reported conducting evangelistic outreach in remote areas of Pakistan where Christianity remains largely unknown.
“Powerful week in Pakistan… Preaching in a remote place where few have even heard the name of Jesus! It’s a honor to share the Good News and see people respond. Many were saved and healed by the Power of God!” Wehrli shared in a separate update.
These dual efforts—humanitarian aid and Gospel proclamation—represent the comprehensive approach that has characterized Inspire International’s global ministry model since its founding. The organization consistently combines practical assistance with spiritual outreach, addressing both physical and spiritual needs in the communities they serve.

Strategic Partnerships Amplify Impact
Wehrli credited the success of these initiatives to collaborative partnerships between multiple organizations. The freedom operations and evangelistic outreach were supported by both House of Faith and Inspire International, with additional partnership from Empowered21 and their #everyone initiative.
“Grateful for friends and partners of Inspire International & House of Faith who have helped with these outreaches & for the partnership of Empowered21 & the #everyone initiative. There is Power in the Gospel when it is proclaimed!” Wehrli noted.
These strategic alliances allow the organizations to pool resources, expertise, and networks to maximize their humanitarian and spiritual impact across challenging regions.
Building on a History of Freedom Initiatives
This latest success builds upon Inspire International’s earlier achievements in anti-trafficking work. According to their 2024 annual report, the organization had already helped free 17 families from labor trafficking situations in Pakistan last year alone.
Dr. Samuel Roberts, an expert in international anti-trafficking initiatives, commented on the significance of this work: “What makes Inspire International’s approach particularly effective is their focus on entire family units rather than individuals. By liberating and supporting whole families, they create sustainable pathways out of generational poverty and exploitation.”
Future Expansion Plans
Looking ahead, Wehrli has indicated plans to expand both the Freedom Project and evangelistic efforts throughout South Asia in the coming year. The organization aims to implement a more robust aftercare program for freed families, including educational scholarships for children and microenterprise opportunities for adults.
