We decided NOT to wait until after this horrific war, with 58 of our hostages still being held by terrorists for 602 days, before recognizing true leaders & unsung heroes, who stand by us. We are honoring, thanking, and celebrating our brothers and sisters of all faiths who bravely stand by our side through this darkness, hand in hand, day and night, and bring light.
Our 120 heroes and heroines, builders of the Middle East and our Globe, bring light, hope, truth, and wisdom. The number 120 in Judaism means life—a full life. It can be lonely when you feel alone, isolated, and attacked at every corner, but we are not alone.
We honor one of those lights of wisdom: Our 50th Hero, Dr Salem Alketbi, Researcher, Writer, and Political Analyst from the United Arab Emirates
His wonderful name Salem (سالم), means safe, sound, healthy, secure, and peaceful. Salem is also used in Hebrew, where it signifies peace and is associated with the city of Jerusalem. The Hebrew word “shalom” (שָׁלוֹם), meaning peace, is related to the name Salem.
His wise words, “With all sincerity and hope, we wish for peace and growth to embrace our region. We all trace our lineage back to Father Abraham, which truly makes us much closer than we often realize. Our shared historical and spiritual foundations are vast and deeply rooted. As for our differences, they are merely precious opportunities for intellectual deepening, study, and constructive dialogue. May these strong bonds build bridges of understanding and cooperation, and may our discussions about what sets us apart pave the way for discovering new horizons that foster coexistence and prosperity for all.”
