James Maslow
American Singer, Actor, and Champion of Unity
Standing Up for Peace in the Middle East

The Meaning Behind the Name
The name “James” is of Hebrew origin, meaning “supplanter” or “one who takes by the heel”. It is a variation of the Hebrew name Jacob, which has a biblical connection to the story of Jacob holding onto his twin brother Esau’s heel at birth. The name was passed down through Greek and Latin before being adopted as “James” in English.
I chose to align myself with the only democracy in the Middle East, a place I love, and a people I admire.
π΅ “On My Mind” – A Song for Unity
The singer and former Big Time Rush star recently released his new single, “On My Mind,” a powerful collaboration with Israeli artists Shahar Saul and Maya Dadon.
Maslow didn’t just record a song; he travelled to Israel to film the music video on location, publicly expressing his support for the country and strongly condemning the rise of antisemitism globally.
He poured his energy into a project that he says means “more to me than anything I’ve done in years.”
This is a profound example of using a platform to champion a cause and stand against hate, even when it is unpopular. In an industry where taking a public stand can be difficult, James Maslow has demonstrated immense courage and conviction.
With our hearts broken, terror, missiles, & antisemitism surrounding us, our resolve to Live, Love, & Build a better future is resolute. We are building a new future together, based on peace, friendship, culture, shared values, coexistence, & mutual respect.
