U.S. Evangelist Franklin Graham, known for his close ties with the White House and recent visit to Israel, has called on Christians to pray following the U.S. military’s bombing of three nuclear sites in Iran. Graham, the son of the late preacher Billy Graham, emphasized the importance of seeking divine guidance in these turbulent times.
“Peace through strength is a true statement, but we must remember that God is our strength and ask for His help and direction,” Graham stated in an early morning message on social media. He acknowledged the gravity of the situation, saying, “As the sun comes up this morning, we see that America has executed military strikes to destroy Iran’s nuclear capabilities.”
In his message, Graham urged followers to “pray for our nation. Pray for President Donald J. Trump and the leaders around him, and pray for our military.” He also called for prayers for Israel, which continues to face missile attacks amid escalating tensions in the region.
Graham highlighted President Trump’s remarks regarding Iran’s longstanding threats, including the chants of “Death to America” and “Death to Israel.” He warned that “Their hate is real,” referring to the Islamic leaders of Iran, and underscored the need for vigilance and prayer.
His comments came in the wake of remarks by U.S. Congressman Randy Fine, a Republican from Florida, who suggested that God saved Trump’s life to serve as commander-in-chief during what some perceive as prophetic upheaval in Israel and the broader Middle East. Fine referenced an assassination attempt on Trump on July 13, 2024, while he was speaking at an open-air campaign rally near Butler, Pennsylvania. “I believe God saved Donald Trump’s life so that he can save the world,” Fine told U.S. broadcaster Fox News.
During the ‘Fox News Live’ program, Fine further asserted that “Trump deserves a Nobel Peace Prize” for his efforts to eliminate Iran’s nuclear threat, framing the military strikes as a crucial step toward ensuring global security.
As tensions continue to rise in the Middle East, Graham’s call for prayer reflects a broader sentiment among many Christians who seek divine intervention in the face of geopolitical challenges.
