
On Saturday, April 4, 2025, Aleppo hosted its regular meeting of the Heads of Christian Churches, marking a significant moment of inter-church cooperation amid Syria’s ongoing challenges. Rev. Dr. Haroutune Selimian, Head of the Armenian Protestant Community in Syria, actively participated in the gathering. The meeting was graciously hosted by Archbishop Bedros Mreyati, Head of the Armenian Catholic Church.
Throughout the session, church leaders discussed the current situation in Syria, with a focus on the severe hardships facing the population in Aleppo. Leaders shared insights into the pressing concerns and challenges affecting their communities, emphasizing the urgent need for solidarity and coordinated action during these trying times.













A central theme of the meeting was the importance of inter-church cooperation. In the spirit of unity, the heads of Christian Churches in Aleppo recognized that collaboration across different denominations is crucial to providing effective support to their congregations and to addressing the broader humanitarian crisis in the region.
At the conclusion of the meeting, all participants lifted their prayers to God. They collectively asked for divine guidance over His flock and earnestly prayed for the restoration of peace in Syria—a testament to their unwavering faith and commitment to their communities.
