Christian Zionism is not a modern phenomenon or an abstract viewpoint within Christianity. It is the default and natural position of Christianity. When we take God at His Word, the only logical conclusion is that God still has a plan and purpose for the Jewish people and for the land of Israel.
⚠️ A Troubling Development
This week, popular podcaster and former Fox News host Tucker Carlson, who professes to be a Christian, declared that he “hates” Christian Zionists “more than anybody.”
He went on to call Christian Zionism a “Christian heresy” and a “mind virus.” Those words were not spoken by an atheist or a radical Islamist, but by someone claiming the name of Christ.
Yet the hatred that many professing Christians now show toward Israel, and toward their Christian brothers and sisters who love and stand with Israel, is deeply troubling.
Carlson’s statements were made during and after his now-infamous interview with Nick Fuentes, a Holocaust-denier and white nationalist who has openly expressed antisemitic views. Carlson offered Fuentes a friendly platform and, rather than challenging his antisemitism, allowed him to smear Jewish people collectively as a political force.
This is not discernment. It is deception. Sadly, it seems Tucker might agree with Nick’s dangerous antisemitic views.
Zionism is God’s Idea, Not Man’s
Zionism did not begin in 1948. It wasn’t invented by Scofield, as some falsely claim. It is clear and obvious in every English translation of the Bible. In fact, you have to tear pages out of Scripture or strongly change the meaning of passages to get anywhere near to rejecting Israel.
Zionism began in Genesis when God Himself promised Abraham this eternal inheritance. He reaffirmed it to Isaac, Jacob, and throughout Israel’s history. The prophets foresaw Israel’s return from exile and ultimate redemption in their own land (Ezekiel 36–37; Amos 9:14-15).
To oppose Zionism is, in essence, to oppose the outworking of God’s covenant faithfulness.
Biblical Testimony from Church Leaders
That is biblical Zionism. It is not an abstract viewpoint or political extremism, but confidence in God’s written Word and unbreakable promises.
God’s Eternal Covenant Promises
📖 Scripture’s Clear Testimony
This is what Christian Zionism is all about: Taking God at His Word.
A Tragic Inversion of Biblical Truth
Tucker Carlson, in the same breath that he praises Russia and even defends Qatar — a nation that funds Hamas and shelters its leadership — claims that Israel is not an ally and that support for Israel is “problematic.”
He excuses regimes that persecute Christians but condemns those who bless the Jewish people. That is a tragic inversion of biblical truth.
📢 Dangerous Influence
Carlson says he is “not that interested in the Jews,” yet he repeatedly talks about Israel and Zionism and has platformed more people who slander them than most other podcasts.
This is deeply troubling because his podcast is currently the third most listened to podcast on Spotify. He has such a massive influence that politicians, including those in the White House, listen to what he says. Which is why it is so troubling when he hosts those who deny the Holocaust, or calls Jews the enemy of America, or himself says that we Christian Zionists have a “mind virus” and that he “hates” us “more than anybody.”
In doing so, he reveals not Christian wisdom, but the very spirit of error that Scripture warns against.
There is no “love thy neighbour” or “bless and do not curse” in Carlson’s words. Instead, his open disdain for Christians who stand with Israel betrays a deeper hostility toward the covenant purposes of God.
Tucker is Encouraging Hatred of Millions
Tucker is encouraging the hatred of tens of millions of Bible-believing Christians who simply take God at His Word. That is not courageous truth telling, it is spiritual blindness. That isn’t honour of God, it is serving Satan’s demonic agenda.
And something from which Tucker Carlson must repent.
Zionism is the Default Biblical Position
✟ Christian Zionism Should Need No Label
Christian Zionism should not even need its own label. A Christian Zionist is simply a Christian who believes what God said.
The Church does not replace Israel; it is grafted into Israel’s covenant blessings (Romans 11:17-18). To love Israel is not to idolise a nation but to honour the faithfulness of God, who keeps His promises to Abraham’s descendants.
A Warning Against False Teachers
⚡ Recognizing Spiritual Error
When self-proclaimed Christians mock God’s promises to Israel, they are not enlightened; they are echoing the same ancient contempt that led to centuries of Christian antisemitism.
Scripture warns that in the last days, people will turn away from sound doctrine (2 Timothy 4:3). Christian anti-Zionism is one such heresy.
Christian anti-Zionism is a dangerous heresy because it:
- Denies the plain meaning of God’s Word
- Sows division in the body of Christ
- Aligns believers with those who curse what God has blessed
- Strikes at the heart of God’s revealed plan
- Replaces covenant with contempt
- Substitutes Scripture with cynicism
Our Response as Believers
Tucker Carlson’s declaration that he “hates Christian Zionism more than anybody” is not merely a poor choice of words; it is a public rejection of God’s promises to Israel and a betrayal of Christian love.
✟ Stand Firm in Biblical Truth
As believers, we must stand firm. We must love the Jewish people, defend truth, and pray for the peace of Jerusalem (Psalm 122:6).
Zionism is not man’s idea — it is God’s idea.
And every Christian who loves the God of the Bible should love what He loves, and bless what He has blessed.
