Chonburi, Thailand — The Embassy of Israel has extended its support to the renovation of the Teacher Boonchoo Home for Special Children, a well-known center in Chonburi province dedicated to caring for and educating children with special needs.
The home was founded by Teacher Boonchoo Muangmaithong, who generously transformed her own residence into a sanctuary for more than 250 children requiring special care. Over the years, it has become a symbol of compassion, education, and community support.
On the occasion of the renovation’s completion, Ambassador Orna Sagiv and members of the Israeli Embassy team visited the center. They were warmly welcomed by Teacher Boonchoo, her staff, the children, local community members, and senior government officials representing various agencies.

During her visit, Ambassador Sagiv shared heartfelt reflections:
“Visiting Teacher Boonchoo Home for Special Children in Chonburi today filled me with inspiration and hope. The love, dedication, and strength of Teacher Boonchoo and her team to all children have created not just a school, but a beautiful home, where over 250 children with special needs can grow, learn, and shine.
I’m proud that we could play a part in renovating this special place, and grateful to Nanmeebooks for filling it with books and imagination. I believe that every child deserves a safe space to bloom like a flower 🌷, and hopefully we can help make that happen for these beautiful children as well.”
As part of the ceremony, Nanmeebooks contributed a donation of books to enrich the children’s educational experience, further enhancing the nurturing environment at the center.
The Embassy emphasized that true friendship goes beyond formal diplomatic ties, describing the project as an example of “heart-to-heart and people-to-people” connection.
