A Voice for Faith and Freedom: Remembering Charlie Kirk
“His life was short—but it was full. His voice may be silenced—but his message echoes louder than ever.”
A Nation Grieves
Charlie Kirk, the conservative political activist and co-founder of Turning Point USA, was tragically killed in a shooting at Utah Valley University on September 10, 2025. This week, our nation mourns the loss of a fearless voice for truth, for freedom, for faith.
Today on “Fearless,” we remember not just a prominent political figure, but a friend—a young man who knew what it meant to live fearlessly for the Gospel of Jesus Christ. For more than a decade, Charlie Kirk has been unashamedly preaching the Gospel to this nation and the world, standing as an unwavering voice for conservative values and Christian faith.
Remembering Charlie’s Legacy
Charlie will be remembered for his courage in faith, his dedication to truth, and his unwavering commitment to freedom. His organization, Turning Point USA, confirmed his death and asked that everyone “keep his family and loved ones in your prayers”. But as we mourn his passing, we must ask ourselves: will we be remembered for that same kind of courage?
Cardinal Pietro Parolin of the Vatican condemned the violence, stating that the Vatican “is against all types of violence” against those with whom one disagrees. Utah Governor Spencer Cox called the shooting a “political assassination”, highlighting the concerning rise of political violence in America.
A Call to Fearless Faith
Instead, we as the church need to take a stand. No more sitting on the sidelines, no more playing it safe. This is our moment to decide: will we be silent Christians, or fearless Christians?
I pray we would all choose the latter.
Remembering September 11th
In light of the darkness of this week, and the darkness of this day—September 11th—we are reminded of the words spoken from the Washington National Cathedral 24 years ago in the wake of those evil attacks. These words remind us that the losses of 9/11, and the loss of Charlie, are not in vain.
Good will one day triumph over evil, and faith will win out over fear.
Words of Hope from Billy Graham
In this moment of darkness, we turn to the timeless words shared by Billy Graham from the Washington National Cathedral after September 11, 2001. These words, as relevant today as they were 24 years ago, remind us that even in our deepest grief, we are not without hope. They encourage all of us as believers to not be silenced but instead be emboldened to live out our faith more fearlessly than ever before.
Charlie Kirk’s legacy is not just in the political movements he helped build or the speeches he gave. His true legacy lies in the example he set—living fearlessly for his convictions, speaking truth boldly, and never compromising his faith for the sake of comfort or safety.
As we process this tragic loss, we must remember that Charlie’s voice, though silenced by violence, continues to echo in the hearts and minds of all who were touched by his message. The question now is not whether his voice will be remembered, but whether we will have the courage to carry forward his message of fearless faith.
In this time of mourning, may we find the strength to honor Charlie Kirk’s memory not just with our words, but with our actions. May we choose courage over comfort, truth over convenience, and fearless faith over silent compromise.
